Javan Tiger in Java Island Indonesia

Javan tiger is the big tiger that ever live in java island, indonesia, that they has been declared extinct by IUCN at 1980 because agricultural land clearing and poaching. However, some of researchers are argue that the javan tigers still exist although their numbers are very little today, they believes that javan tiger can be found someday, because according to the peoples who live in near forest, sometime some of javan tigers looks going out from the forest. But until now there is not a photographic evidence of javan tiger to strengthen these claims.


The javan tigers are ever live in mountain and low land forests in java island before extinct, their prey is deer and wild boar. In 1950, the numbers of javan tigers are about 25 as of that time. Then their numbers less and less until 1980 and finally IUCN determined that the javan tiger is really extinct.

Today some of researchers are continue to investigate of the remote forests in java to find evidence the javan tiger existence. Do you believe if javan tiger still live today?

Seharusnya bukannya Javanese Tiger ya?

according to iucn the name is javan tiger, not javanese tiger,,,, javanese just for java peoples like us :D
